The Yellow House is a rustic hideaway offering private and cosy accommodation to couples and individuals seeking more than just a hotel room. The gîte has a light and happy feel and is brightly decorated with solid natural pine floors and exposed stone and/or woodwork in all rooms.
Downstairs there is a character kitchen area with modern appliances, an open plan living/dining area with comfortable seating.
On the 1st floor there is a double bedroom with a 160cm bed and a feature balustrade constructed from the original wooden manger. There is an en-suite bathroom fitted with a large shower, a wash basin and a separate toilet.
Outside, there is a private patio which is beautifully sunny in the morning and shady during hot summer afternoons.
We have just spent a lovely few days in the Yellow House, recommended by a friend. Our expectations were exceeded! The house was perfect for our needs and the hospitality of Tim, Gill and the boys was fantastic! We arrived by train but have had no problems without a car. The bus service is excellent which meant we were able to explore the area; beach, mountains and Perpignan. The village of St Laurent is buzzing with bars and restaurants and the market was a treat. Thank you so much for making our stay so special.
Each gîte benefits from very well maintained furnishings, fixtures and fittings.
The kitchens are well stocked with plenty of pots and pans, utensils, crockery and cutlery. Each has an oven, hob and extractor, microwave, coffee maker, fridge/freezer, washing machine (or access to one) and dishwasher*.
(*except the Yellow House.)
Likewise, an iron and board, vacuum cleaner, cleaning products & materials, hairdryer, clothes airers etc.,are all provided.
Bedrooms are spacious with comfortable beds, blackout curtains and plenty of wardrobe space.
There is electric heating throughout, air conditioning in the attic bedrooms and a wood burner downstairs in the Red House and in the Blue House. Ceiling fans are installed in the bedrooms where necessary and downstairs where possible.
Additional items for our youngest guests such as a high chair, travel cot, and baby bath are available upon request. Pets are welcome by prior arrangement.
All have a wi-fi connection and in each living area there is a television, DVD player, hi-fi, board games, books and local tourist information.
Outside, each private patio is equipped with table(s), chairs and a large parasol (in the summer). There is also access to a barbecue. All guests are welcome to use the shady Pergola and to hone their skills on the "piste de pétanque"!.
Parking: It is always possible to unload your car in front of the gates and invariably there are spaces to park in the road immediately outside the gîtes or within a few metres.
There is no smoking allowed in the gîtes.
